The train is the cheapest way, with the S-Bahn to Rostock and then the RE5 every two hours, and takes about 3 hours each way. A taxi or private car cuts the trip to about 2 hours 30 minutes at 420 euros or more, so most day visitors need a long call or an overnight stay.
