Copenhagen Airport to Cruise Port: metro, taxi, car
Oceankaj is in Nordhavn, about 16 km from the airport, and no train goes the whole way. The cheap route is metro M2, a change to M4 at Kongens Nytorv and a short bus ride from Orientkaj, one 30 kroner ticket for about 55 minutes. A taxi or pre-booked car takes about 35 minutes and costs 425 kroner or more. The bus from Orientkaj to the terminal is the weak link on days with no ship.

Take M2 from the airport to Kongens Nytorv, about 13 minutes, and change to M4 towards Orientkaj, which is Marmorkirken, Østerport, Nordhavn, Orientkaj. At Orientkaj walk to the bus stop for bus 25 or 164 to Oceankaj. Bus 25 runs only on ship days, every 10 to 20 minutes, and the regular bus 164 also serves Orientkaj. The ticket for the airport and Nordhavn is 3 zones, 30 kroner single under the 2026 DOT tariff, bought in the DOT Tickets app or at the airport metro machines. It works with cases but the change at Kongens Nytorv is crowded.

Wonderful Copenhagen puts the taxi at about 425 kroner on weekday days and about 520 kroner in the evening, at weekends and on bank holidays. Fares are metered, so we show 425 to 520 kroner as an estimate. The drive takes about 30 to 40 minutes depending on traffic on the Øresund motorway. Most taxis accept cards. Ask for Oceankaj, Nordhavn, since the three cruise terminals are in different parts of the city.

A pre-booked sedan starts at about 800 kroner (around 105 euros) for up to four passengers and three bags, with the price fixed when you book. The driver meets you in arrivals and takes you to the terminal. It costs more than the meter on weekdays, so it only makes sense for the fixed price and the meet and greet.
The same trip in a different situation
Arriving late at night
Metro M2 and M4 run all night, but bus 25 serves Oceankaj only on ship days and stops an hour before the last ship leaves. After the bus stops, the last mile from Orientkaj has no public service except a taxi. If you land late, a taxi from the airport rank is the simplest way to the ship, and the evening meter is about 520 kroner. Check the all-aboard time on your cruise app and count back from it.
See the comparison →4 people, 4 suitcasesTravelling as a group of four
Four people on 3-zone tickets pay 120 kroner in total. A taxi at 425 to 520 kroner works out at about 106 to 130 kroner each, so it costs roughly the same as the train and bus and takes you to the gangway. For four people with cases the taxi is the better deal. A sedan at 800 kroner is 200 kroner each. For one or two people the metro and bus saves 400 kroner or more.
See the comparison →Practical tips
- Ticket zones: the airport and Nordhavn are 3 zones, 30 kroner, and the same ticket covers metro and bus. The 2-zone ticket at 24 kroner is the inner city fare only.
- Embarkation margin: aim to be at the terminal at least 2 to 3 hours before the all-aboard time on your cruise app, and book a taxi if your flight is within that window.
- Bus 25 is a ship-day service. On days with no ship in port, take bus 164 to Orientkaj, or a taxi.
- A City Pass Small, 100 kroner for 24 hours in zones 1 to 4, covers the airport and Nordhavn, but it does not pay unless you ride at least four times.
- Check which terminal your ship uses. Oceankaj, Langelinie and Nordre Toldbod are in different parts of Copenhagen, and the routes are not the same.
- Trains from the airport to Østerport or København H also work, with a metro or bus to finish, but they add a change, so metro M2 is the simpler route.
