From the station walk to Rådhuspladsen and follow the pedestrian street Strøget east to Kongens Nytorv, then a short walk to Nyhavn. The ground is flat but some stretches are cobbled and crowded, so a large case is awkward. It takes about 30 minutes to Kongens Nytorv with luggage. This works well with a small bag and for a hotel in the inner city. Otherwise the metro is quicker and still cheap.

Taxi fares in Copenhagen are metered and there is no published fixed fare from the station to the centre. A trip of about 2 km to Nyhavn costs roughly 90 to 130 kroner by day, scaled from the metered fares quoted by Wonderful Copenhagen, and more in the evening and at weekends. Treat the range as an estimate. Most taxis take cards and drivers help with cases. It saves little time over the metro, so it makes sense with heavy bags or after midnight.
The same trip in a different situation
Arriving late at night
Metro M3 and M4 run all night. After midnight on Friday and Saturday trains come about every 8 minutes, and on other nights about every 20 minutes between 01:00 and 07:00. S-trains also run on Friday and Saturday nights, but you should check the DSB or Rejseplanen for the timetable on other nights. Taxis wait at the station at night and are the easiest choice with luggage.
