Pisa (PSA): the best way to central Florence for four people
Four people on PisaMover and the regional train pay 65.20 euros in total, and four FlixBus tickets from 14.98 euros are about 60 euros. A taxi at 170 to 190 euros is 43 to 48 euros each, and a sedan carries three, not four. The train is still the cheaper way for a group. The taxi or car pays off only for a very late arrival or when the group has heavy bags and no appetite for a change at Pisa Centrale.

Direct coach to Florence is the best value: €59.92 for the group, about 1 h 35 min.

Practical tips
- Pisa Centrale is the railway station for Pisa city, about 3 km from the airport. The 6.50 euro PisaMover ticket ends there, so you can stop in Pisa and carry on later by regional train.
- Regionale Veloce trains to Florence take about an hour and the all-stations Regionale takes up to 1 hour 25 minutes. They cost the same, so pick the faster one.
- Validate a paper regional ticket at the machine on the platform before boarding. Regularising an unvalidated ticket on board costs a 5 euro surcharge.
- The PisaMover and train are sold as one ticket on the Trenitalia site and app, with the shuttle fare added to the rail fare.
- The coach has several Florence drop-offs. Choose Santa Maria Novella or Piazzale Montelungo, next to the station, when you book.
- From 1 June to 30 September the PisaMover runs until 01:00. In October it stops at midnight.
