Venice Airport to Cruise Port: taxi, bus, People Mover
The land taxi is the answer for most cruise passengers: a fixed 45 euros for up to four, about 30 minutes, and the driver stops at the terminal. The public route is a bus to Piazzale Roma and the People Mover to Marittima, 11.50 euros and about 70 minutes with cases. A water taxi ends at the quay but costs 110 to 150 euros. This page assumes your ship is at Marittima, so check the berth first.

- → Marittima People Mover station, a short walk to the terminal
Take ACTV bus 5 (10 euros single, 24 minutes) or the ATVO coach (12 euros, about 20 minutes) to Piazzale Roma and walk to the People Mover station, a few minutes away. Marittima is the first stop, 1.50 euros for the ride. The People Mover runs 07:00 to 23:00 on weekdays and 08:00 to 22:00 at weekends in the October timetable. With the ATVO coach the total is 13.50 euros. Cases go on stairs and a short walk at each end, so allow about 70 minutes.

The city publishes a fixed 45 euro fare from the airport rank to the Marittima cruise terminal, covering the car and luggage, for the shortest route. It is not available by phone booking, so take a cab from the rank. The drive takes 20 to 30 minutes. Ask for Stazione Marittima, and for your berth if the ship is at the far end of the port. Card payment is accepted.

- → Marittima quay
The consortium publishes no fixed airport tariff, so 110 to 150 euros is an estimate drawn from booking guides, for the whole boat with up to four people. The trip crosses the lagoon and takes roughly 50 minutes to an hour. You step off at the quay with your bags, which suits a group who want a first view of Venice from the water. Agree the total, bags and night supplements before you board.

- → Stazione Marittima, the cruise terminal entrance
A pre-booked sedan starts at about 56 euros for up to three passengers, with the driver tracking your flight and a fixed price. It costs more than the 45 euro rank taxi, so it is worth it for a named driver or a fixed price on a late flight. It takes about 30 minutes and goes straight to the terminal.
The same trip in a different situation
Arriving late at night
The ACTV bus 5 and the ATVO coach run until 01:10, but the People Mover stops at 23:00 on weekdays and 22:00 at weekends, so the public route is closed after about 22:15. After that the land taxi at 45 euros is the practical choice, with a night supplement possible. The ship does not wait for a late flight, so count back from the all-aboard time rather than the sailing time. Use a taxi if the plane lands late.
See the comparison →4 people, 4 suitcasesTravelling as a group of four
Four people on the public route pay 46 euros (11.50 each), about the same as the 45 euro taxi for the whole car. For three or four people with luggage the taxi is easily the better deal, and it is the only option that takes you from arrivals to the terminal door. A water taxi at 110 to 150 euros is 28 to 38 euros each. For one person, the bus and People Mover is cheaper but takes twice as long.

- Check your ship's berth first. Many large ships dock at Marghera or Fusina on the mainland, not Marittima. The 45 euro fare and the People Mover do not apply there, so ask your cruise line which port it uses and whether it runs an airport transfer.
- Embarkation margin: plan to reach the terminal at least 2 to 3 hours before the all-aboard time on your cruise app, and book a morning flight with the same margin on the way back.
- Do not accept a ride from touts in arrivals. Use the taxi rank, and ask for the fixed fare to Stazione Marittima.
- The People Mover station at Piazzale Roma is a few minutes from the bus stops, with steps and ramps for cases. A taxi avoids all of it.
- Ask the terminal staff which direction your berth is from the People Mover station before you walk.
- Alilaguna does not list a stop at the cruise terminals on its 2026 timetable, so there is no airport boat to Marittima.
