Naples port: the best way to central Naples for four people

Four people on the metro pay 6 euros in total, and on the Alibus 20 euros. A taxi carries four for the fixed 15.50 euros, which is 3.88 each and takes about 20 minutes door to door. From three people with bags the taxi is the better value. A sedan seats three and costs about 49 euros, so for four use the taxi.

Every option in detail

Metro

Metro line 1 from Municipio

  • €1.50
  • 30 min
  • 06:15–23:00
  • → Garibaldi, under Napoli Centrale

Walk from the terminal across Piazza Municipio to the station and ride to Garibaldi in about 8 minutes. A single costs 1.50 euros and is sold at the machines in the station. ANM publishes the line ends at 06:15 and 23:00 from Centro Direzionale from Sunday to Thursday, and the last trains on Friday and Saturday run to about 01:32. On those extended nights the corridor to the port exit at Municipio closes at 22:00. Steps and escalators make this hard with large cases.

Bus

Alibus

  • €5
  • 35 min
  • 05:30–23:35
  • → Piazza Garibaldi, in front of Napoli Centrale

The bus starts at the Stazione Marittima, calls at Immacolatella and Varco Pisacane, and reaches Piazza Garibaldi in about 20 minutes. A single is 5 euros and must be validated as you board. The first bus is at 05:30 and the last from the port is at 23:35. Buy at an authorised tobacconist, the ANM machines, in the Unico Campania app or by contactless card at the validator. It runs on to Capodichino airport.

Shuttle

Shared taxi (taxi collettivo)

  • €6
  • 40 min
  • 24 hours
  • → Napoli Centrale (Corso Novara or Corso Arnaldo Lucci)

The city runs a shared taxi between Molo Beverello, Napoli Centrale and the airport, at 6 euros per person with luggage included. It leaves once three passengers are aboard, after a wait of up to 15 minutes. No meter is used and the driver issues a receipt. No operating hours are published and drivers take part voluntarily. The scheme is authorised until 31 December 2026.

Taxi

Official taxi

  • €15.50 per vehicle
  • 20 min
  • 24 hours
  • → Napoli Centrale, Piazza Garibaldi

The city's predetermined fare from the port or Molo Beverello to Napoli Centrale and Piazza Garibaldi is 15.50 euros per taxi. It covers luggage, night, holiday and airport supplements. Other fixed fares from the port are 11 euros to the historic centre, 10 euros to Via Partenope and 24 euros to the airport. You must ask for the fixed fare before you set off, and ask for a receipt.

Private car

Pre-booked private car

  • €49 per vehicle (estimate)
  • 25 min
  • 24 hours
  • → Your hotel door
