4 people, 4 suitcases

Charles de Gaulle (CDG): the best way to central Paris for four people

Four people on the RER B pay 56 euros in total, the same as the taxi fare to the Right Bank. The taxi takes you to the door with the bags in the boot, so for four people the taxi is clearly the better choice. For three people the 56 euro taxi costs 18.67 euros each against 14 on the train. A pre-booked car at 63 euros usually carries three passengers in a standard car, so check the passenger limit if you are four. For two people the RER B is 28 euros and still the cheapest sensible option.

Every option in detail

Train

RER B train

  • €14
  • 55 min
  • 04:50–23:50
  • → Gare du Nord, Châtelet-Les Halles, Denfert-Rochereau

You need the Paris Region <> Airports ticket at 14 euros. The ordinary metro ticket does not work on this stretch, so use a ticket machine or the Île-de-France Mobilités app and keep the ticket until you exit. Trains from the airport run from about 04:50 to 23:50. The RER B is often disrupted and is crowded at rush hour, and you will carry cases up and down stairs at some stations, so check the line status before you rely on it.

Bus

Bus 9517 and metro 14

  • €4.60
  • 85 min
  • 05:20–00:30
  • → Saint-Denis-Pleyel, then metro 14 to Châtelet

This replaced Roissybus on 1 March 2026 and uses the same type of coach. It runs from about 05:20 to 00:30 and takes around 30 minutes to Saint-Denis-Pleyel. The bus takes a Bus-Tram ticket at 2.05 euros, but the metro leg needs a second ticket, the Metro-Train-RER ticket at 2.55 euros, which makes 4.60 euros. It is the cheapest way to central Paris when the RER B is down, but you change at Pleyel with your bags.

Bus

Bus 351

  • €2.05
  • 1 h 40 min
  • 07:00–21:37
  • → Nation (east Paris)

A single Bus-Tram ticket at 2.05 euros pays for it. The ride takes 70 to 90 minutes, and it only reaches Nation, so budget more time if you are heading to the centre. The timetable on the Île-de-France Mobilités page has the last bus to Paris at about 21:37. Choose it only if money matters more than time.

Bus

Noctilien night bus

  • €2.05
  • 1 h 30 min
  • 00:30–05:30
  • → Gare de l'Est and Gare du Nord area

The Noctilien network runs from 00:30 to 05:30. N143 is the quicker of the two via Saint-Denis, N140 goes through the north-eastern suburbs. A normal 2.05 euro ticket is accepted. Check the exact departure times for your night on the Île-de-France Mobilités site, because the gaps between buses can be long.

Taxi

Taxi Parisien

  • €56 per vehicle
  • 55 min
  • 24 hours
  • → Door to door, Right Bank

The fare from CDG is 56 euros to the Right Bank and 65 euros to the Left Bank, set by decree for 2026 and valid at any hour. Luggage is included. A fifth passenger adds 5.50 euros and a pre-booked taxi adds 4 euros (immediate booking) or 7 euros (advance booking). The ride takes 40 to 60 minutes depending on the A1 traffic. Use only the official rank and ignore anyone who approaches you inside the terminal.

Private car

Pre-booked private car

  • €63 per vehicle (estimate)
  • 60 min
  • 24 hours
  • → Your hotel or address

A standard pre-booked car starts at about 63 euros for up to three passengers. The driver tracks your flight and the price is fixed at booking, so there is no rank queue after a long flight. It costs a few euros more than the Right Bank taxi, so it pays for itself mainly when you want the pick-up arranged and a set price for a Left Bank address.
